The idea of Sous Chef 2 Go came about one afternoon when my husband and I were at home planning to cook a fancy meal for the two of us from a cook book. We ended up having to visit three different supermarkets in order to gather all the ingredients. We spent another two hours or so preparing and cooking the recipe, which by the way, turned out delicious. But we were left feeling exhausted to really enjoy the meal. When all was said and done, we had spent over $10.00 on 1.3 ounces of the much-sought-after juniper berries, and only used six berries for the recipe. We also found that the recipe we were following was difficult about the amount of ingredients and cooking times, although we enjoyed the meal, it was quite a frustrating experience, to say the least.

That night, I dreamt up a solution to my dilemma of wanting to cook a fresh wholesome meal for my husband without the stress and time wasted on complicated recipes and hard to find ingredients. The idea that came to me was a service for people that like to cook fresh food, but do not have hours to dedicate to planning and shopping. The idea was very exciting and I awoke determined to think it through and make it a reality.

I imagined a place where people would be able to pick up a recipe in a bag, where all the ingredients were already measured, diced, marinated, individually packaged and ready to be cooked. A recipe in a bag would be the ideal thing for people who are in a hurry and would like a great meal. This would make for less time wondering what to cook for dinner, no thawing, chopping, or measuring, or trying to follow discouraging recipes. Sous Chef 2 Go would do all this work and allow people to enjoy cooking again.
